What is DISC?

DISC is a model of 4 behavioural styles, developed on the basis of research by an American psychologist, William Marston. He analyzed human behavior in a specific environment and in specific situations. It turned out that there is a repetition of behavior in people with similar styles.

For example, some will be more focused on the task and others on the person, some will focus more on the goal, while others will be focused on the process, some will naturally take the initiative, while others will act efficiently in response to clearly defined expectations of action, some will refer to solutions in conversation, while others will focus on analyzing the problem, etc.

What are the behavior styles of DISC?

The DISC model is a universal language of behavior. According to research, behavioral traits can be grouped into four main categories with varying degrees of intensity. People with similar styles tend to exhibit specific behavioral traits that are typical of a particular style.

Each tested person has four styles in them, but with different intensities.

The acronym DISC describes the behavior of people through four behavior styles (behavior types): D = Dominant, firm; I = Influential, inspiring; S = Steady, composed; C = Accurate, conscientious. Depending on the intensity of individual styles and their combinations, the level of proactivity and reactivity of a given person, task orientation or human mindset depends. It also determines the personal reaction to changes, the way decisions are made, and the style of communication.

What does the DISC D3 show?

Using the metaphor of an iceberg, the DISC D3 competency test examines not only a person’s behavior that can be observed with the naked eye, e.g. preferred communication style, relationships, people’s behavior in crisis situations, proactive, reactive attitude, but also what is below the water level, what is not visible, and what affects behavior, e.g. preferred TEAMS team roles, VALUES, intrinsic motivations of BAI.

The different layers of the study answer the following questions:

DISC

VALUES
TEAMS
BAI
